Ann F. Elliott, EA, maintains her accounting and tax practice in Chevy Chase, Maryland. Born and raised in PA, she has lived in the WDC area for over 50 years. Ann has been self-employed for 30 years, providing CFO services, tax preparation, and accounting services in several industries including real estate, non-profits, restaurants, and family trusts. Ann has an MLA from Johns Hopkins, a BA from Trinity College, and qualified for Enrolled Agent designation in 2011. She is currently the Treasurer for Episcopal Center for Children in DC and has been on several boards over the past 35 years. When not working she likes to travel with her mini-schnauzer, Beans, to places they can both paddleboard and hike.

Hannah Coyle is the owner of Coyle Business Solutions, where she offers outsourced CFO and bookkeeping services to professional service organizations. She is a dedicated Enrolled Agent with expertise in small business accounting, tax preparation, and Quickbooks Online consulting.

Hannah acts as Second Vice President for MSATP and is also the chair of MSATP’s Education Committee. In addition, she graduated from the MSATP Young Professional Leadership Program’s second class.

During her free time, Hannah is an avid runner, a devoted reader, and a binge TV watcher with a deep appreciation for a delicious cup of coffee (or four). She loves spending quality time with her husband, daughter, and two pups, Root and Blue, and you can always find her cheering on her nephews at their various activities.

Christopher J. Williams has over 17 years of experience in public accounting, specializing in financial services, cryptocurrencies, partnerships, and high-net-worth individuals and small businesses. After graduating from Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey – Newark, with a Bachelor of Science degree in 2006.

Chris worked in the New Jersey / New York Metropolitan area before moving to Maryland in 2018. Chris helps clients plan for new regulatory matters and consults with them on how to improve efficiency in identifying tax savings opportunities. Chris also obtained a Master’s in Taxation from Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey – Newark 2016. Chris is a licensed CPA in Maryland, New Jersey, and New York.

Chris is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants (NJSCPA), and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA). Chirs has been a member of the MSATP since 2019. While a member of MSATP, Chris has been the president of the PAC, participated in the Committee on Professional Responsibility, has spoken at various conferences, and has taught CPE classes.

Michael McIlhargey, CPA is a Maryland native and despite learning to read on an Apple II computer decided on a career in accounting when he earned his BS in Financial Economics from University of Maryland, Baltimore County in 2008 and a MS in Accounting and Information Systems from the University of Maryland, University College in 2013.

After obtaining his CPA license shortly after graduation Mike originally started out working for larger businesses when he realized that small business was where he wanted to specialize. Mike currently works at PSA CPA where he leverages technology to assist individuals, entrepreneurs, and small businesses manage their tax compliance needs.

Joining the MSATP in 2019, Mike is a graduate of the society’s inaugural Young Professional Leadership Program. When he isn’t in the office (physically or virtually) Mike spends time on the water either fishing, kayaking, or both at the same time.

Matt Eddleman brings more than two decades of professional experience in tax controversy, accounting, financial planning, and small business management and consulting to the Strategic Tax Planning team, and is one of the nation’s leading experts on the Employee Retention Credit and other COVID relief programs. His experience working with individuals and business owners to improve their financial positions gives him a unique understanding of the financial issues faced by every U.S. taxpayer in the aftermath of the global pandemic. He excels in planning opportunities the Internal Revenue Code offers taxpayers to ready themselves for the challenges brought about by the rapidly changing financial landscape.

A native of the nation’s capital, Matt is a graduate of Shepherd University, where he studied Business Administration and Financial Economics and completed the University’s CFP Board-approved program in personal financial planning. An IRS Enrolled Agent, Matt represents U.S. taxpayers around the world, helping them to minimize their tax burdens and navigate the IRS’s complex regulatory and compliance requirements. Matt resides with his wife on the banks of the Chesapeake Bay’s western shore, a mere stone’s throw away from his favorite rockfish and perch fishing holes.

Andrea Foster, CPA, has been guiding small business owners, fiduciaries, and individuals through their tax and accounting needs since 2004. A lifelong Maryland resident, she grew up in Prince George’s County and now lives in Crofton with her partner and three daughters. She became a partner in her firm in 2012 and took full ownership of Conkling Foster CPA, LLC in 2015.

Nicole prides herself in being an accounting/finance professional who is not only willing to “be in the weeds” of the day-to-day accounting but can also be a strong contributor in the strategic planning and vision of a company. Nicole has worked with multiple organizations where she has made significant contributions during her tenure. She has done past implementations of more robust accounting systems and changed policies and procedures in finance with the goal of increasing growth, efficiency and consequently reduced company costs.

Nicole created her company Accounting Edge Consulting so that she can utilize her accounting and financial skills to help owners and CEOs analyze, grow and manage their business more effectively.

For several years, Tony Pelura has owned, operated and managed several successful small businesses. He holds a BS in Business/Marketing and Accounting and an MS in Finance. He is a Certified Valuation Analyst, a licensed tax preparer in the state of Maryland and Virginia, an IRS Enrolled Agent, a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor, an AICPA certified member in fraud and forensics and a candidate for Certified Public Accountant. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Maryland Association of CPA’s (MACPA), the Maryland Society of Accountants, The National Associations of Certified Valuators and Analysts and the Salisbury University Alumni Mentor Network.

John Salan graduated from the University of Maryland College Park in December 1990. Soon after, John started studying vigorously for the CPA exam, and that goal was finally achieved in May 1993.

John took a couple of different accounting jobs over the next three years to get experience and then opened the doors to John D. Salan, CPA, in 1996 with two clients. That number has since grown substantially.

Over the next 27 years, John has practiced in the State of Maryland as a CPA.  Johns’s practice includes, among other things,  income taxes for businesses and individuals, compilations and reviews for business entities, as well as an emphasis on tax controversy.

John has also volunteered his services as the treasurer of a non-profit organization. John is a member of the AICPA, MACPA, and, most importantly, MSATP.

John is a husband and father of two boys and enjoys traveling and helping others in need.

Donya Oneto has been a practicing Maryland CPA for over 30 years. She has a small accounting practice in Sykesville, Maryland, specializing in closely held businesses, predominantly S Corporations, independent professionals, and entrepreneurs. She genuinely enjoys working with small businesses and their owners whose drive and creativity make their dreams happen.

Donya has served on MSATP’s Board of Directors since 2014 and as Treasurer since 2018. She has been a member of the Society since 2000. She believes her membership has helped her grow professionally and personally, having established some long-term friendships she would not have otherwise.

Donya’s career began in the private sector, working for a small biotech company. She then went on to hold various positions in government as well as public accounting. Donya was selected by Dr. Charles Ecker to serve on the Carroll County Public Schools audit committee in 2007. She served a 3-year term on the committee, one year as Chairwoman. She also held the position of Treasurer for Linton Springs Elementary School PTA. Donya has a BS in Business Administration with concentrations in Accounting, Human Resources, and Labor Relations. She is a native of Kansas, moving to Maryland when she was eight years old. She loves spending time with her two grown children and her husband of 33 years.

Donya’s hobbies are reading, watching old movies, being healthy and fit, and supporting animal causes. Recently, she began playing Trivia remotely through BARCS animal shelter and is now a fan. She supports the Carroll County Humane Society as well as other animal welfare organizations when presented with the opportunity.

Giavante’ Hawkins earned a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Saint Vincent College and a master’s degree in Non-Profit and Association Management from the University of Maryland University College. She has built extensive management and leadership experience in the nonprofit and association sectors.

Giavante’ most recently served as the Director of Membership Operations at the American Bankers Association, where she managed the annual dues revenue cycle, capturing $45 million annually, and oversaw member engagement and the operational functions of the Membership Department.

Giavante’ joined the Maryland Society of Accounting and Tax Professionals in June 2022. She is recognized for her strategic planning skills, ability to drive membership growth, and commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive community. Her professional achievements include spearheading initiatives that have increased member engagement and satisfaction and securing partnerships that have provided substantial benefits to members.

Outside of her professional endeavors, Giavante’ enjoys spending time with her family, weightlifting, and traveling. A native Washingtonian, she currently resides in Anne Arundel County.
